  There are lots of things to do and see in Aurora. This town is
  the third largest in Illinois and an excellent stop while driving the
  Lincoln Highway. Settled in the early 1800s, the town of Aurora
  features stories and museums for curious travelers. Make sure you
  take an opportunity to enjoy the history of this city on the
  Lincoln Highway.
  Aurora features architectural tours that showcase the unique
  ways that the buildings of this city have been structured. There
  are nine historic districts throughout the city with various forms of
  ornate and unusual architecture. La Salle Street is one of these
  historic districts. This street is on the Register of Historic
  Places and was called Aurora's Auto Row. It is significant for its
  Victorian era, 20th-century commercial-style, and fraternal lodge
  buildings. It was once the automobile commercial center of
  Aurora.
  Be sure to catch a glimpse of another unique architectural
  aspect of the Lincoln Highway. Aurora's water sculpture, known as
  the "Swimming Stones," was created by Christian Tobin for the
  city's Downtown Art and Science Walk series.

  Geneva

  Geneva is characterized by its old-fashioned small town feel
  demonstrated most prominently in the historic downtown area. There,
  the storefronts reflect a marketing style of a different kind and
  the victorian-style houses look on with dignity of the past.
  Settled in the 1830's, Geneva has a pioneer past with the culture
  of Swedish immigrants intertwined. Be sure to visit Fabyan Villa
  during your stop in Geneva. This estate-turned-forest preserve was
  once the home to the wealthy George Fabyan who had the world
  reknowned architect, Frank Lloyd Wright design his home. Now the
  area can be enjoyed by travelers and residents alike for its
  riverside path next to the Fox River, its Japanese Gardens, and
  working windmill.

  Rochelle

  Observe the railroad at the Railroad Park southwest of the
  downtown area, or stop at the old Standard Oil Filling Station that
  has been restored as a visitor center. Rochelle is a Lincoln
  Highway town with its own unique themes.
  West of Rochelle on IL 38 you can see the a portion of the
  original road turning south on South Center Road to cross the Kute
  River. The bridge no longer exists and the road has been closed

  Dixon

  Dixon, Illinois has several claims to fame including its
  frontier beginning. Settled in 1830 as Dixons Ferry, the land of
  Dixon was a haunt for Indians and trappers for many decades before
  that. The community, its landmarks, and recreational areas
  developed over the years. When soldiers returned from World War I,
  they found that an arch had been constructed to welcome them. The
  Dixon Arch now spans the Lincoln Highway. Dixon was also the
  boyhood home to President Ronald Reagan.

  Morrison

  This quiet community is a nice place to stay while traveling the
  Lincoln Highway. You may choose to explore the Hillendale Bed &
  Breakfast or camp at the Morrison Rockwood State Park.
  After you cross the Mississippi and enter Morrison, be sure to
  keep a look out for the Lincoln Highway Garage. A large mural on
  the front of the building incorporates reality and fiction so well
  you will have a hard time deciding what is the building and what is
  the mural. The painting features a common scene from the highway's
  early history.
